I just read this article written by Morgan Connor in a Parenting New Hampshire online newsletter and I just had to share.  What a COOL idea!  I love cooking competitions and, as a former Home Economics educator,  I believe creative kitchen time is a great bonding experience and confidence booster for kids.  This event is a must on your family calendar!!

MINI IRON CHEF CHALLENGE  by MORGEN OCONNORThe FoodWorks Mini Iron Chef Competition will be held on Sunday, March 18 at the Children’s Museum of NH in Dover. This fun cook-off will feature pairs of children in the role of chefs and adults in the role of sous chefs. Each pair will work together to turn a box of healthy ingredients – plus a mystery item to be revealed at the start of the session 
– into tasty creations.
The Mini Iron Chef Challenge is planned for children ages 4-10 working with adult partners. Once they register, participants will receive the list of ingredients that will be provided by Hannaford at the event. At-home trial runs with these ingredients are encouraged so team members are familiar with these foods.

Two sessions of cook-offs will held on March 18: one session from 12:30 – 1:30 pm and a second session from 2-3 pm. The fee per team is $10 for museum members and $15 for non-members. Registration is required. Teams can register at the front desk or by calling the museum at 603-742-2002.

Every Thursday from now until Christmas the Historic Exeter Retail Owners Network will be sponsoring a FREE Holiday Trolley, picking up and dropping off passengers all over town from Lincoln Street to Water Street!  Come on out and take a ride, do some shopping, have a bite to eat and enjoy our beautiful little town all decked out for the Holidays.  Puddlejumpers has a little something in store for all of our Thursday evening shoppers whether they traveled by train, trolley, bicycle or automobile to get here.  There will be some refreshment and special savings for all shoppers who visit between 5:30 and 9:00PM.  We are looking forward to helping you with your Holiday gift selections!

Believe it or not, Puddlejumpers has been in business for 23 years. We started in Dover, moved to downtown Exeter (which felt a lot like coming home), and have been here for over 13 years. Luckily, we absolutely LOVE what we do, and we plan on being here for many more years to come. We'll always work hard to be that cute children's shop around the corner, with a great selection and a smiling face behind the counter. We just hope you guys love us as much as we love you!

One of our favorite customers sent us this pic of their little one bundled in one of our all-time favorite holiday coats. It's adorable, cozy, machine washable, and fits over even the fanciest of holiday dresses. A perennial favorite, it sells out every year!
